Project objectives
The participants:
  • improve their German, computer and math skills
  • are well informed about their educational opportunities (vocational training and further education) and the Swiss education system
  • develop a plan of action and have an up-to-date application dossier
  • increase their chances in the labor market


Target group
Non-qualified, foreign language speaking employees who:
  • are employed in low-threshold jobs in the hospitality industry
  • have no recognized vocational qualification at upper secondary level and are particularly disadvantaged in access to continuing vocational training
  • want to be informed about training opportunities in order to move forward in life and in their workplace
  • reside in the canton of Bern (Bern-Mittelland, Biel-Seeland, Emmental, Oberaargau and Oberland), Lucerne or Zurich.




Activities

Admission interview (1 hour of 60 minutes each)

The program begins with an individual admission interview, which is used as a triage. In the admission interview language skills as well as motivation and goals of the participants are evaluated.

Personal assessment (15 lessons of 45 minutes each)

Participants will get to know where they currently stand professionally and can orient themselves with regard to further education and training in the hospitality industry. They will create or update their resume and an individualized plan of action in regard to further education.

Orientation and vocational guidance (20 lessons of 45 minutes each)

The participants

  • will get to know the education system and the educational offers in the catering industry, such as the basic qualifications “Progresso”, “Perfecto” or the integration pre-apprenticeship “Riesco”
  • become familiar with their competences and receive support regarding training and further education in the gastronomy sector as well as the recognition of foreign diplomas (in the case of regulated professions).
  • Recovering basic skills

    The mastery of basic skills is an indispensable prerequisite for lifelong learning and for active participation in life in general. Integresso offers participants the opportunity to improve their German language skills and acquire a solid base of general knowledge and skills through tailor-made courses. Basic skills include knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Learn German (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Improve computer skills
  • Improve math skills
  • Coaching (5 hours of 60 minutes per participant)

    The educational offer is complemented by an individual and ongoing coaching.

    Participants pay CHF 250.- for the entire educational program.
